HLA Evolved API (IEEE 1516-2010)

The C++ API for the IEEE 1516-2010 HLA Standard, called HLA Evolved.

The HLA Evolved API consists of the RTIambassador, the FederateAmbassador and the LogicalTime classes and supporting types.

Centralized RTI interface header

The rti1516e::RTIambassador class defines the interface used by the federate to access the services of the RTI. This is one of two key classes in the HLA C++ Interface, The implementation is provided by the RTI. An RTIambassadorFactory class provides a mechanism for creating instances of an RTIambassador.

The rti1516e::FederateAmbassador class defines a pure abstract interface used by the RTI to evoke callbacks on the federate. All federates must provide an implementation of this class for their federate. It is the seconf key class in the HLA C++ Interface Specification.

Supporting types

The LogicalTime and LogicalTimeInterval classes define a pure abstract interface for the representation of federation time. The RTI uses the LogicalTimeFactory to create instances of these time representations. The LogicalTime classes are used by the RTI interface and implementation; however, a concrete implementation must be provided for use by the federate. A double floating point and an unsigned integer representation are provided as example implementations.
