MAK RTIspy API Documentation for HLA Evolved: HLA Evolved API (IEEE 1516-2010)

The C++ API for the IEEE 1516-2010 HLA Standard, called HLA Evolved.

The HLA Evolved API consists of the RTIambassador, the FederateAmbassador and the LogicalTime classes and supporting types.

Centralized RTI interface header

RTI1516.h - This file is simply a convenience provided for those developers that would like to include everything all at once.

The rti1516e::RTIambassador class defines the interface used by the federate to access the services of the RTI. This is one of two key classes in the HLA C++ Interface, The implementation is provided by the RTI. An RTIambassadorFactory class provides a mechanism for creating instances of an RTIambassador.

RTIambassador.h - This file contains the rti1516e::RTIambassador class.
RTIambassadorFactory.h - This file contains the rti1516e::RTIambassadorFactory which can be used to make an implementation of the rti1516e::RTIambassador class.

The rti1516e::FederateAmbassador class defines a pure abstract interface used by the RTI to evoke callbacks on the federate. All federates must provide an implementation of this class for their federate. It is the seconf key class in the HLA C++ Interface Specification.

FederateAmbassador.h - This file contains the rti1516e::FederateAmbassador class.
NullFederateAmbassador.h - This file provides an example derivation of the rti1516e::FederateAmbassador with NULL actions for each service.

Supporting types

Enums.h - This file contains enumerations used by the interface.
Exception.h - This file contains exceptions used by the interface.
Handle.h - This file contains the designator or handle classes used by the interface.
RangeBounds.h - This file contains the interface for DDM region ranges.
SpecificConfig.h - This file contains definitions that are used to isolate platform-specific elements of the API.
Typedefs.h - This file contains the standard RTI types that are defined in namespace rti1516.
VariableLengthData.h - This file contains a class to hold an arbitrary array of bytes for encoded values, attribute values, parameter values, etc.

The LogicalTime and LogicalTimeInterval classes define a pure abstract interface for the representation of federation time. The RTI uses the LogicalTimeFactory to create instances of these time representations. The LogicalTime classes are used by the RTI interface and implementation; however, a concrete implementation must be provided for use by the federate. A double floating point and an unsigned integer representation are provided as example implementations.
