9.1 - Ground Armor Damage Systems

Table of Contents

The ground armor damage systems are systems with a single actuator component that models how an armored vehicle takes damage from direct and indirect fire.

VR-Forces models light armor damage and heavy armor damage. The heavy armor damage system is configured on entity types such as the M1A2. The light armor damage system is configured on vehicles such as the BMP2.

Defined in system definition files:  ground-heavy-armor.sysdef and ground-light-armor.sysdef

The tracked-movement system can be configured as part of a Ground Vehicle.

9.1.1 Components that Make Up the Ground Armor Damage System

The figure below shows which systems and simulation components are configured as part of the ground armor damage system. Note that the damage system accepts input and produces output.  It acts as a wrapper around the individual damage component contained within. The dotted lines show the input and output connections between the damage component and the system. These connections are internal to the system. The solid lines indicate that public connections are available to connect this system to outside components and/or systems.

9.1.1.1 Sensors

There are no sensors configured as part of this system.

9.1.1.2 Controllers

There are no controllers configured as part of this system.

9.1.1.3 Actuators

Note
If you modify the system definition file, or any of the components it contains, multiple entity types may be affected. All entity types that include this system in its parameter database file will be modified.
