Named mutexes are primarily used for inter- process communication (IPC), and critical sections cannot be shared by threads in different processes. Platform independent mutual exclusion. Instances of DtIpcMutex are used to provide a platform independent mutual exclusion mechanism which can be accessed by threads in different processes
