This class exists so that a QTimer can call the tick() slot as fast as possible. This will provide a snappy user interface while doing heavy work. There should only be one of these per DtDe.

pause the ticker (tick() will still be called but it will noop) this was added so SensorFX could pause the ticker while the license dialog is up
