netdumpHLA

netdumpHLA listens to an HLA federation execution, subscribes to all object and interaction classes in the FOM, and prints out data whenever it receives an attribute update or interaction.

netdumpHLA handles interactions similarly to netdumpDIS (netdumpDIS) – it interprets and prints out the data in the interaction.

When netdumpHLA receives an attribute update message, it is decoded into a DtEntityStateRepository, then the state repository is printed.

Note:

netdumpHLA prints default values (usually zero or false) for attributes not contained in the update. A list appears above the state information, showing the names of attributes actually contained in the update.

The usage for netdumpHLA is:

The following table describes the command-line options:

netdumpHLA Command-line Options
Option	Description
(-- | --ignore_rest)	Ignore any remaining arguments on the command line. This is useful if you want to maintain a complete command-line syntax, but occasionally want to disable some of the options.
(-c | --clearScreen)	Clears the screen between messages (updates or interactions). This option is especially useful for debugging single entity applications. The screen is cleared between messages, so corresponding fields of successive messages appear in the same place. This makes changes in various parameters easily visible.
(-f | --fomMapperLib) libname	Specifies a FOM Mapper library name
--fomMapperInitData data	Specifies FOM Mapper initialization data, if required.
-F fed_file_name	Specifies the FED file to use. Default: federation_execution.fed.
(-h | --help)	Displays a summary of command-line options, then exits.
(-m | --printMom)	Subscribes to MOM classes.
(-M | --noFullReport)	Disable printing of update specifics.
-n	Prints only the objects that have changed.
(-r | --raw)	Runs netdumpHLA in raw mode. For more information, please see the paragraph following this table.
(-R | --rprFomVersion) version_number	Specifies the RPR FOM version. (0.5, 0.7, 0.8, 1.0, 2.0006, 2.0014, or 2.0017)
(-v | --version)	Display version information and exit.
(-x | --execName) exec-name	Specifies the name of the federation execution to be monitored. Default: VR-Link.

When you run netdumpHLA with the -r option, for each attribute update or interaction received, it prints the name of the attribute, the size of the value of that attribute, and a hexadecimal dump of the value of the attribute.

netdumpHLA can print incoming HLA data in a completely FOM-independent manner. It subscribes to every class in the .fed file (including MOM classes if you use the -m argument). If an update or interaction represents a class that VR-Link "knows" how to decode, (includes all BaseEntity subclasses, Aggregates, Fire, Detonate and Collision Interactions) the data is printed as the correct data types (unless you are using raw mode). If the message represents a class that VR-Link cannot decode, netdumpHLA prints the name of the class, and the name, size and hex value of all attributes and parameters.
