VR-Link is distributed with a number of examples.

These examples can be useful as test federates, or just starting points for VR-Link development.

Simple Examples Connecting to an Exercise

• Simple Talk/Listen - A simple example showing how to use VR-Link's API to publish an object to the network (Talk) and to subscribe and listen to updates from the Talk application via the Listen application.

More Complex Examples

• F18 - A complex F18 example that shows interactions and emitter systems in a full federate.
• Embark - A simple example which embarks a helicopter on an aircraft carrier.

Specific Functionality Examples

• ListenC - Listen for the C language. Shows how to use VR-Link with C++ wrappers.
• Articulated Parts - A simple function which manipulates Articulated Parts.
• Performance Measuring - A simple function which uses a high resolution timer to measure performance for some code.

HLA Examples

Simple examples using Special HLA features:

• Data Distribution Management(DDM) Talk/Listen - Shows how to use VR-Link's API to activate the HLA DDM services to perform geographic filtering. The DDM Listen application will only see updates from the DDM Talk example when the Talk update region and Listen subscribe region overlap.
• Time Managed Talk/Listen - A modified version of the talk/listen example that uses Time Management.
• MC02 Talk/Listen - A modified version of the talk/listen example that uses MC02 standard DDM.
• Extended RPR FOM Talk/Listen - An example that demonstrates how to extend the RPR FOM from an existing RPR FOM Class Object.
• Ownership Handler - an example that demonstrates ownership management in HLA

HLA Extension Examples

• Add Attribute - Adds an attribute to Entities and Fire Interactions.
