Detailed Description

DtTaitBryans are used to represent orientation of an object, using a set of three Euler angles.

To represent an orientation of an entity, a set of three rotations are used. The three rotations used by DIS and RPR FOM are called the Tait-Bryan sequence, where the first rotation is about the Z axis, the second is about the new Y axis and the third is about the newest X axis. The three angles are usually denoted by psi, theta, and phi respectively.

Please note that the three angles to not correspond to the familiar heading, pitch and roll of an entity except when the reference coordinate system is topographic.

This class contains no virtual functions and many inline functions because it is used extensively through out VR-Link and needs to be fast. It is not intended to be subclassed

Constructor & Destructor Documentation

DtTaitBryan::DtTaitBryan ( )

Creates a default DtTaitBryan which is initialized to 0,0,0.

DtTaitBryan::DtTaitBryan ( double  psi,
double  theta,
double  phi
)

Creates an object with initial passed values.

DtTaitBryan::DtTaitBryan ( const DtTaitBryan tait)

copy constructor

DtTaitBryan::DtTaitBryan ( const DtQuaternion quat)

create a Tait Bryan from a Quaternion

Warning, this computation is expensive. Its always better to stay in Quat

Member Function Documentation

int DtTaitBryan::operator!= ( const DtTaitBryan other) const

Get whether another DtTaitBryan does not equals this one.

Warning: This tests floats for equality, and may be subject to round off errors

DtTaitBryan& DtTaitBryan::operator= ( const DtTaitBryan tait)

assignment operator

int DtTaitBryan::operator== ( const DtTaitBryan other) const

Get whether another DtTaitBryan equals this one.

Warning: This tests floats for equality, and may be subject to round off errors

DtFloat64 DtTaitBryan::phi ( ) const
void DtTaitBryan::printDataToStream ( std::ostream &  str) const
DtFloat64 DtTaitBryan::psi ( ) const
void DtTaitBryan::setPhi ( DtFloat64  phi)
void DtTaitBryan::setPsi ( DtFloat64  psi)
void DtTaitBryan::setTheta ( DtFloat64  theta)
DtString DtTaitBryan::string ( ) const

returns a string representation of this object

DtFloat64 DtTaitBryan::theta ( ) const
