The rank is the order the tab will appear in on the overlay list and tab bar. The category is what will be used to remove or change an existing category. Note that if a category is removed or changed after objects are on that layer, this will not affect those objects. It will only affect newly added objects. Note that if an object does not appear in any category, unless it also has an overlay layer it want to appear on (non-blank) it will appear on the "Default" overlay layer
