VR-Link API Documentation for HLA 1.3
|
VR-Link contains hundreds of classes, but the vast majority of projects can be completed by using several core classes.
Connections:
A connection in VR-Link is required to make your simulation "network aware." This is what bridges your Federate to the broader simulation. Simply creating a DtExerciseConn instance makes your program a federate.
Objects:
No matter what protcol you use, if you want to publish something with state, you will need to create objects. Object classes are published to the network using a subclass of DtObjectPublisher, and read off the network using a subclass of DtReflectedObjectList. The state of the object is set/stored in state repositories, and publishers and reflected objects are used to push or pull this state data to the network.
Every object type has a State Repository, a Publisher, a Reflected Object, and a Reflected Object list. Significant objects are listed below with all of the above associated classes. Knowing these basic class names is most of what you need to make one or more federate that simulate something.
For publishing Entities
For grouping entities real (or silent) together
For Radio simulation
For Emissions
Interactions:
Interactions are used to represent events, such as a weapon fire, or a colission. Commonly used interactions include:
